Thank you to my friends at FiftyFlowers.com for sending the flowers for this beautiful floral crown craft. As always, the opinions are my own.
A few weeks ago, we had a Summertime Tea Party for a few of my friends lovely daughters. FiftyFlowers.com sent a huge box of monochromatic pink flowers for us to use for the party. We made arrangements, decorated the cake and made floral crowns for all the girls. The crowns were a big hit and I promised the tutorial. Unfortunately, life got busy with my LuLaRoe launch and I never got the post up but I never make a promise.
Here’s how to make a gorgeous floral crown!
In my Summertime Tea Party post, I discuss the necessary prep once you receive your floral order so I’m not going to go into it here. The folks at FiftyFlowers.com give you detailed instructions as well so you really can’t screw it up. Just know, you need to allot a couple extra days to your prep before the flowers are ready. So, if you have an event, keep that in mind.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your floral crowns:
Wire cutters (I used my kitchen shears. I don’t recommend this if you want to keep them sharp)
Floral Stems
You’ll want to cut your copper wire the exact measurement of your girl’s head. I saw tutorials where they added a couple of inches so I tried that the first time. Didn’t work. If you choose enhanced pink daisies and alstromeria like I did, the exact head measurement will work. Start by making a circle with the copper craft wire. Use a small piece of heavy vinyl tape to secure it in place. Next, cut your first flower so you have an inch of stem. Secure it to the copper wire with floral tape.
Next, place your next bloom on the wire to the right of the first one so it’s placed not to show the covered wire. Secure in place with the floral tape. Repeat the process until the entire crown is covered with fresh blooms.
If it doesn’t look perfect, don’t worry about it. You’re not going to see the floral crown from this view. It will look more like this. Just be sure to store them in the refrigerator until you plan to use them, otherwise, you’ll be very sad.
All of the young ladies at our Summertime Tea Party loved their crowns. They were the hit of the party and it’s so easy to make a floral crown. Perfect for a party, wedding or just a fun summer day.
