Today’s craft is sponsored by MyPrintly and Mom Select. As always, the opinions are ours.
Rosie and I love to create things but we don’t have a lot of time. Honestly, I was thrilled to take this post because it involved making a craft which would force us to come up with a great idea and execute. It worked. We had a blast. But, first before we tell you what we made, let’s share a little about MyPrintly from HP.
You need to check out MyPrintly. See this card? Made in about 2 minutes. The only reason it took that long? We had to download the software. There are all kinds of projects on the site that you can customize and make your own. Lots of craft ideas too. Want to print from your phone? They have an app for that. You can also create projects from your photos on your phone too. It’s awesome.
Rosie and I decided to make a decoupage initial for her room. We bought the letter “J” and the rest of the supplies needed for the project. If you plan to make this you’ll need: HP photo paper, Mod Podge, a paintbrush, ribbon, staple gun and some newspaper in case it’s messy.
Next we figured out which pictures to use. We decided to focus on dance friends (and a couple of Toby). Since we needed small photos, we printed on 8 1/2 x 11 HP photo paper.
Next Rosie cut all the photos. Once she trimmed all of them, she had to make a decision on where to place them. Not easy when you have so many great pics.
Then she put a light layer of glue on the initial and then put the photo on top followed by a layer of glue. We used matte finish Mod Podge for this project. Once she had all the pictures glued on, we let it dry for a couple of hours so the pictures could be trimmed with an X-Acto knife. Then we attached ribbon to the top with a staple gun. It turned out amazing.
