Of all the motivators I’ve made for dance, this one was probably the most fun. My teenager found the idea on Pinterest and we thought we’d improve upon it a little. This Pop Pop Fizz Fizz Motivator was a great way for her to give something a little bigger to her close friends at dance nationals. They all thought it was great. Here’s what you need to make this one:
- Coke bottles
- Pop Rocks
- Popcorn
- Popcorn salt
- Colored plastic bags
- Cardstock
- Scrapbook Paper
- Glue Stick
- Paper Punch
- Curling Ribbon
- Paper Cutter
The graphic was easy to make in Canva. They have all kinds of elements for $1 each and it was easy to find the glass of coke and popcorn. We printed them out, cut them, glued them to construction paper and we were almost ready to go.
I’m a big fan of popping corn the old fashioned way. I think it tastes better and you can control the amount of salt. We’ve had a West Bend Stir Crazy popper for years. I made three big batches of popcorn for 12 girls, loaded it up with salt, let it cool and then put it in bags. Rosie wanted the little popcorn box we found at Michael’s in the picture above, but I couldn’t figure out how to transport them. And, my original idea of tying the tag to the coke bottle and attaching the Pop Rocks didn’t work either. We wound up placing everything in a gallon Zip Loc bag and handing them to the girls that way.
The girls loved them and it was just enough sugar to get through the last long day at nationals. Don’t have dancer? No worries. You can make this with cheerleader, volleyballer- just about any sport. Want other great ideas? I have them.

I love this idea! I don’t like microwave popcorn myself so I always just cook it on the stove. Heading over to check out your push pop motivator.
Speaking of the stove, do you remember Jiffy Pop? Do they still make it?
