We’re coming up on what I like to call the most overrated holiday of the year- Valentine’s Day. When Rosie was in grade school, Valentine’s Day was a blast. You decorated a box, bought a whole lot of candy and had a party at school. Now? We’re in middle school so it can be a lot of drama.
However, my teen is looking forward to the big day. She doesn’t have a sweetheart this year so we thought we’d create a gift that she could give to her BFF’s (and actually if you change the tag, your teen will love getting everything in this jar too). So, we headed to Target to find some things in the dollar section to supplement the things we’d already purchased on Amazon to make our Tickled Pink Valentine’s Day Jar.
Revlon Nail File / Earbuds (Target $$ section) / e.l.f. lip gloss / Headband from Target / Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Color / que bella face mask / Vaseline Lip Therapy / Dove Milk Chocolates
Since jar gifts are hot right now, we made sure everything would fit inside a large Ball Jar. We placed all the items inside and then kicked back to admire our work. We found the cutest ribbon in the Target dollar section to place around the rim of the jar lid and to tie on our tag. Want the tag for your own gifts? Download the printable here.
We created the tag on Canva- a simple, online graphic design program. I like Canva because it’s easy to use and I don’t have to go search for an image that has a creative commons license. I purchased the cupcake image on the tag for a buck and created the tag. What teen doesn’t love cupcakes, right?
The result? An awesome gift that’s not babyish. In fact, there are all kinds of goodies in the jar that Rosie’s friends will love. We think our Tickled Pink Valentine’s Day Jar turned out great. How about you?
This is super cute! I love that it isn’t all candy, too!
