Hope everyone had an incredible week and is looking forward to some great dinner ideas!
I am a slacker in the summer. Last week, we had sandwiches a couple of times because it was just too darn hot to turn on the oven. My teenager wanted biscuits and gravy and I made my dad fry the sausage outside on the grill side burner so it wouldn't stink up the house. Anyone else have this predicament in the summer?
If you're looking for some more cold dinner ideas, I have a few that are tried and true and are easy to make and you don't have to turn on the oven to heat up the house. Here are my favorites.
- Grilled Vegetable Wraps
- Spicy Shrimp Salad
- Steak Salad with Nectarines and Spiced Pecans
- Perfect Pasta Salad
I also love the slow cooker this time of the year. When it's 100 degrees out and I want something hot to eat, it's slow cooker time. The easiest recipe of all? Throw some skinless, boneless chicken breasts in the pot with some BBQ sauce and let it cook on low for 7 hours. Turns out tasty and delicious every time. We've even brought the crock pot and ingredients to dance nationals and had it in our hotel room.
Here are this week's dinner ideas!

So, what's on your dinner menu this week? I definitely think I'll pull out my slow cooker and make the pulled pork. Sounds delicious and my entire family will love it.
